Does LiftED Work?

LiftED is more than what it sounds like. It was a place to help identify your thoughts and feelings and validate who you are and how you react. What you learn applies to every area of your life, not just the classroom. The people that surround the table with you are like-minded people, and by the end of the sessions, you have a community of support that leaves you feeling like you're not alone. It truly was transformational

For two years, Janna held LiftED small groups at our school.  I was nervous about coming to this forum and sharing personal, sensitive information with other teachers.  I also thought it may end up being sessions full of complaining. I couldn’t have been more wrong! From the first session, Janna provided a truly safe and calm environment.  She then guided us as participants, to actively build this environment for ourselves and with each other. She carried these strategies and practices over to her work with students. 

Janna’s professionalism and knowledge in this field is equally matched by her innate ability to connect with people. Staff and students were drawn to Janna, as she is a safe place.  There were many times when staff would find solitude in the calm and security of her office.  She always took the time to stop, check in and many times, process with us at that time.
